Notre Dame and others

In the morning, Naomi, Nancy and I visited the Notre Dame cathedral. This was the second of many, many churches I would see on my trip. At this point I was still very impressed. Later, we met Tim at the nearby Saint Michel fountain and spent the next hour walking along the Seine. The weather was pleasant, not hot and muggy as it had been the prior two days. The girls had to leave to take a train for Geneva, where their friend Liz was spending the summer. Tim and I would join them later, but first we made a trip to the Latin Quarter to buy a gift for our host in Geneva. We picked up a box of macaroons at the most upscale confectionery I had ever stepped foot in. The rest of the neighborhood wasn't too shabby, either. In fact, I couldn't imagine a time when the Latin Quarter, which is now a bobo bastion, had ever been ruled by starving students. Having accomplished our mission, we went back to the apartment, packed our bags and left for Geneva.

On this day I left my camera behind, so there are no pictures.
